Clariant
Adaptations and rollout
for over 30 countries

Clariant is a leading specialty chemicals company from Switzerland. With 18,000 employees, numerous companies on all continents, and four business units, sales increased by +24 % to CHF 5.2 billion in 2022. Since 2010, we have been supporting Clariant in over 30 countries with the introduction and management of automation solutions for accounts payable.

The challenge

In collaboration with the regional experts and Clariant's Global Services, a particular challenge emerged in harmonizing the Group's global guidelines and processes with national laws. In addition, the systems had to be adapted to new legal requirements, such as mandatory electronic invoicing in Italy and South America. In addition, adjustments had to be made for a new shared service center in China.

Our services

  • Set up three shared service centers for all global invoice processing
  • Customize the process design for the processing flow so that the documents can be processed automatically
  • Development of country-specific functionalities to map legal requirements and organization-specific processes
  • Realization of further adjustments within the automation solution during the later migration to S/4HANA (e-invoicing solution Ariba integrated, SAP New General Ledger implemented)

Result: The degree of automation significantly increased

The result: optimized invoice processes, faster invoice processing times, and a significantly higher number of documents that are processed automatically. The systems automatically create correct workflows and forward the tasks to the right processors according to defined rules. Invoices are paid on time and cash discount utilization is increased.
